Free Workshops on Child Sexual Abuse and Harmful Sexual Behaviour

Our colleagues at Barnardo’s are kindly offering two free online workshops in December open to all practitioners working in Darlington – the sessions are 1 hour online workshops, focussing on the work of Barnardo’s Tees Valley Therapeutic Service and will share an insight into the definitions, scale and impact of child sexual abuse and harmful sexual behaviour and provide links and resources to support with safety planning.

Thursday 14th Dec 1pm - 2pm
Child Sexual Abuse
This 1 hour workshop will enable participants to explore their understanding of the definition, scale and impact of Child Sexual Abuse. We will learn about how to identify the signs of indicators of sexual harm and share resources and guidance to support children and families who have been affected by child sexual abuse.
Tuesday 19th Dec 1pm - 2pm
Harmful Sexual Behaviour
This 1 hour workshop will enable participants to explore their understanding of the definition, scale and impact of Harmful Sexual Behaviour. We will explore language, theory and models of assessment to support work with children and families and share resources and service information to help sustain positive change
